General DeFi Risks

Smart Contract Risk

DeFi protocols rely on smart contracts that may contain bugs, vulnerabilities, or exploits. Audits reduce but do not eliminate this risk. Smart contracts are immutable once deployed — bugs cannot always be patched.

Bridge Risk

Bridge protocols transfer assets between blockchains and are high-value targets for exploits. StablecoinHubs does not currently provide bridge or exchange execution, but users should understand this risk before using external protocols.

Oracle Risk

DeFi protocols depend on price oracles (Chainlink, Pyth, etc.) for accurate pricing. Oracle manipulation or failure can cause cascading liquidations and loss of funds.

Stablecoin Depeg Risk

Stablecoins may lose their peg to the underlying asset. Historical depegs (UST, USDC temporary depeg) have resulted in significant losses. No stablecoin is guaranteed to maintain its peg.

Impermanent Loss

Providing liquidity to pools exposes you to impermanent loss when token prices diverge. This can result in receiving less value than simply holding the tokens.

Regulatory Risk

DeFi protocols and stablecoins face evolving regulatory frameworks globally. Regulatory action may restrict access to protocols, freeze assets, or alter protocol functionality.

Feature-Specific Risks

Yield Data

  • APY rates are variable and not guaranteed
  • Past APY does not guarantee future returns
  • TVL, APY, and protocol metadata may be delayed or incomplete
  • External protocols can change terms, risk, or availability without notice

Market Data

  • Stablecoin prices may temporarily diverge from their intended peg
  • Market cap, volume, and circulating supply data are sourced from third parties
  • Third-party data may be inaccurate, stale, or unavailable
  • Do your own research before using any external protocol or exchange

Never invest more than you can afford to lose.

DeFi is experimental technology. Always do your own research (DYOR) and understand the risks before interacting with any protocol.
